國立清華大學哲學研究所主辦2012年9月13-14日卡特萊特哲學國際研討會 (International Conference on Cartwright’s Philosophy)
目的：
南施卡特萊特(Nancy Cartwright)為當代科學哲學最具代表性人物之一。自1983年出版其成名作：How the Laws of Physics Lie起，歷經近三十年，卡氏迄今不僅仍持續寫作，且迭有令學界注目的創見提出，其著作等身達六本專著與超過百篇的學術論文。卡氏擁有美國文理學院(the American Academy of Arts and Science)、英國學術院(the British Academy)、與德國科學院(the German Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina))之院士頭銜，並且也是美國哲學會(American Philosophical Society)的會士與麥克阿瑟學者(McArthur Fellow)。有鑑於國內研究卡氏科學哲學的風氣日盛，故特別邀請卡氏本人台講學。本次會議除了邀請國內相關學者與會外，更邀集了國外重要的中生代學有專長的科學哲學學者與會，以期進一步建立增進國內相關學者與國外學者切磋的機會，並期待這一次交流，能為日後與國際科學哲學研究社群建立起網絡聯結的契機。本次會議所發表的論文預計將尋求國際哲學期刊之支持，以「特別專刊」(special issue)的方式出版。
